Tropical business suit colors
Gentlemen: I live in the Philippines. I would like to ask if it is a tasteful choice to wear a khaki suit to the office in the tropics? While the usual business suit colors are appropriate, the usual charcoal gray and other dark colors can seem a bit drab in the bright sunlight. It seems to me that ...

Re: Flaps on patch pockets
The one instance that comes to mind is for hunting jackets. If you will google for "norfolk jacket" some images should pop up.
I suppose there are other instances when it would be appropriate.

Personally, I've never liked tattoos. ome of the inks used are the same pigments that can be found in car paint. Unfortunately, not enough people seem to be aware that tattoos have certain risks.

I especially admire a Barong Tagalog made from Pina or Banana if left in natural shades. The one thing that I do not like is the wearing of a white "T" shirt under the Barong. I feel that doing so destroys the elegance and grace of the garment. Would it not be better to double face the front of the...

Re: Hats
In my mind hats are not a fashion accessory but a practical necessity in the Winter to keep warm and in the Summmer to keep the sun away. Straw hats are informal daywear only as are linen caps, my own choice to keep the UVs away. A lightweight gray fedora is a good choice for Summer for all around ...

A chap shouldn't have a wedding ring at all - although this flies in the face of convention in the US and parts of Europe. I found your statement intriguing and I came across this: http://weddings.about.com/cs/rings/a/mensrings.htm This is relief as I do not enjoy wearing jewelry. I am still a bach...

While I do not know the particulars of the Barong Tagalog, I imagine that it is colorful and different from our "black tie" in every conceivable way. While some hosts will certainly blush (if not blanche), consider your self encouraged to share your customs and respond to any suspicion that greets ...

Barong Tagalog
Gentlemen: I am Filipino and the formal wear in my country is called a Barong Tagalog. I am wondering if it would be appropriate for me to wear a barong to formal occasions in Europe and North America. I also wonder what the reaction would be of restaurants and other establishments that have a dress...
