I agree, that is a fine-looking cloth. What is its provenance?

Andy this stunning cheviot tweed was a test we did ages ago called "The Slewfoot Tweed" because Slewfoot wanted it very badly to be made. And Steed made a lovely jacket from this length for him. I can't remember who got the other half of this test and I never saw the results.

The Slewfoot was gorgeous, but a darker green, no?

Yes, it was a darker green but the photo bleached it a bit. But now that you mentioned it this bleached green that veers more towards tan is a lovely design. The base color reminds me of the new tan/green Shetland that is almost ready.. This "beautiful tweed" would be a very nice Cheviot to make for Fall.
