Jeremy Hackett returns to Savile Row with menswear store planned
Upmarket menswear label Hackett is to open a flagship store on Savile Row, where its founder started his career in the Seventies.
The move comes nearly five decades since a young Jeremy Hackett started working on the famous suitmaking street. The entrepreneur went on to start his eponymous company in 1979 from a stall in Portobello Road.
Hackett London’s new store will be at 14 Savile Row, and comprise traditional shop floor space, bespoke tailoring and room for limited edition collections.
Jeremy Hackett, who now chairs Pepe Jeans-owned Hackett, called Savile Row “the most renowned street for men’s tailoring”.
He added: “When I first opened Hackett it was inspired by Savile Row - albeit ready to wear. I remember serving the great Hardy Amies, who was a true gentleman. Little did I think that all these years later I would be opening a shop in his old premises, alongside such esteemed tailors.”

yes, Mr. Hackett himself seems always very well put together, but the clothes in the shop are really disappointing, it tries to be traditional, while appealing to the masses, with shortened ill-fitting disproportionate jackets etc. If only they sell clothes that Mr. Hackett himself will actually wear.

I believe they have hired a Spanish tailor that’s used to do full bespoke at ‘Oliver Brown in Chelsea. I have not used him but I remember walking pass his shop and seeing well made, traditional suits in a mix of English and Spanish styles.
