Having bright colors helps identify these non-formal socks, and once again, the possibility of matching is restricted to several combinations.
My go-to sources are Ben Silver, Mes Chaussettes Rouges, and William Abraham (for the occasional luxury).
MCR has Bresciani, which usually works pretty well, especially with the linens for summer.
Ben Silver has a simple solution to a dress wool sock wardrobe-- black with red toes, and navy with blue. And if you want to expand the range, roughly the same quality in a whole range of other colors. Get some of the forest green and Burgundy to go with the others, and you're basically set for quite a while.
